Get ready Savannah to see how prayer and counseling can make a difference in life or death situations in areas related to our youth. There will be a Youth Mental Health First Aid Training Workshop, February 1st at 830 – 5 p.m. at the Southwest Chatham Library Auditorium. The goal is to teach those who work with youth in ministry, youth leaders, parents, coaches, counselors, and educators to better identify, understand, and respond to the signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. The 8- hour training course will provide skills to reach and provide initial support to our youth (ages 12-18) who may be developing or suffering from mental health issues or substance abuse problems to get them the appropriate care and services.
Continuous Education Units (CEU) available to those in mental health. Fee: $125 (included materials). Deadline January 31, 2020 light refreshments will be served.
