Mitzi J. Williams, MD, has been named Medical Director of the Augusta Multiple Sclerosis Center at MCG Health Medical Center.
She is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive care for people living with MS, a debilitating disease that affects the brain, nerves and spinal cord.
Dr. Williams is a neurologist at MCGHealth and an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Williams earned a B.S. degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University and her medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, both in Atlanta. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine and her residency in the Department of Neurology at the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Williams completed her fellowship at the Augusta MS Center and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
She is a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society,the American Academy of Neurology, the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers.
