What if your child or grandchild won $30,000 for his education? How would that change his or her future? The state of Georgia’s 529 college savings plan, the Path2College 529 Plan, is asking families this question, and one child will get his or her answer when Path2College awards him/ her with $30,000 towards a Path2College 529 Plan. The winner’s current school will also receive $10,000.
The “What If…” Sweepstakes launched on November 10, and parents and grandparents have until April 10, 2015 to enter.
“A child’s life is full of ‘what if’ scenarios, but we know that a future that includes continued education is one ‘what if’ that has a positive outcome,” said Mitch Seabaugh, executive director of the Path- 2College 529 Plan. “We hope that by offering to pay what is essentially two years of college tuition at a Georgia public school that it’s a good incentive for parents and grandparents to go online and enter.”
Seabaugh said that the ultimate goal is for families to look at their saving options and open a Path2College 529 Plan for their children while they are entering the sweepstakes. Path2College 529 Plan savings can be used at colleges and universities across the country, and there are tax advantages for Georgia taxpayers.
