The Heart and Soul of May Street Gala, the annual fundraiser for the West Broad Street YMCA, will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, 175 Bourne Avenue, Pooler, Georgia.
This event is a fun night of fundraising. It will include live music, a silent and live auction, and a delicious meal. Also, the following individuals will be recognized for their service to the community and/or the West Broad Street YMCA: Ms. Amanda Hollowell, Dr. Priscilla D. Thomas, and Mr. Henry Garrison. Net proceeds from the Gala will support the outreach programs of the West Broad Street YMCA. The West Broad Street YMCA was founded in 1942 to serve African Americans who were denied services elsewhere and has been serving the Savannah community every since. It is one of five remaining Heritage Ys in the country. Programs currently being provided at the West Broad Street YMCA include Early Learning Center, Before and After school, Summer Camp, Mini Camp, Physical Fitness, Public Library with Computer Access, Neighborhood Enrichment Activities, and Growing Edge Community Garden.
