Honoring the spirit of today’s young people aspiring to business ownership and success, MillerCoors has announced the winners of its 2008-2009 Urban Entrepreneurs Series and Business Plan Competition (MUES).

The recipients, selected from a field of more than 130 applicants nationwide, were awarded business grants totaling $150,000 at a special dinner and reception held in Chicago recently.

This year’s grand prize winner received a $50,000 business grant, with the four runners-up each receiving grants of $25,000 to contribute to their company’s start-up capital, or to expand their existing businesses.

Now successfully concluding its ninth year, MUES has provided more than $1 million in business grants to date, to more than 100 urban professionals across the country, empowering urban American communities by creating jobs and sustaining economic development.
