United Way HandsOn Savannah Calls For Nominations For Volunteer Awards


 
 

Do you know someone who is making a difference in our community through their volunteer contributions? United Way HandsOn Savannah is calling for nominations for its 36th Annual Volunteer Recognition Awards. This premier event is a great opportunity to thank and honor a notable individual or group volunteer for their contributions to the community.

The Recognition Award nomination form is accessible online at www.handsonsavannah.org. It must be completed and received by March 6, 2015. Please give careful consideration to nominating an outstanding individual or group in one of the following categories: •Health & Human Services •Education •Arts & Culture •Animal Advocacy •Volunteer Administrator

A panel of community leaders will select a winner, an individual or a group, who has demonstrated outstanding achievements in any of the above categories. All nominees will be recognized with free admission to the awards luncheon, a short biography highlighting their accomplishments in the program booklet, and a small gift. Results will be announced during the Volunteer Recognition Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 11:45 am at Savannah Station. The winners in each category will receive an engraved award honoring their service. A $500 scholarship award will be presented to an outstanding Youth individual nominee.

The United Way Herschel V. Jenkins Volunteer of the Year Award will be selected from the winners in the above categories. The winner will receive an engraved award, and the non-profit program for which the winner volunteers will be awarded $1,000.
