Founded in 1971, the McCollough Scholarship College Fund was initiated by Bishop Walter McCollough. It was Bishop McCollough’s vision to open the doors of opportunity for young people to attend some of the nation’s most prestigious colleges and universities by establishing an avenue for financial assistance. As a result, these students have been afforded a chance to receive college degrees in a variety of institutions as well as various fields of study including medicine, law, accounting, business, engineering and education. Since its inception, more than 1,000 students have been recipients of the McCollough Scholarship Fund.

The program continues to be successful because of the hard work and dedication of succeeding bishops Bishop S.C. Madison, and current leader Bishop C.M. Bailey. The success is also contributed to the hard work and dedication of area representatives and boosters from each state. In this area, St. W.T. Rodney, and boosters Ann Brown, Glenda Griffin, Renda Gross, Mildred Hunter, Lakesha James, Almisha Mattox, Teresa Mincey, Angeletta Myers, R. Lynette Philpot, and Felecia Roberts work diligently to ensure applications are disseminated to students and members continue to support the program.

Rodney has served as area representative since the inception of the program and continues to provide stellar service in representing this area which includes Savannah and the surrounding areas as well as Florida.

Congratulations are extended to the 2009-2010 scholarship recipients. Current and past recipients of the McCollough Scholarship College Fund also congratulate and salute area representative St. W.T. Rodney on thirty-eight years of exemplary, dedicated and unwavering service to the college fund.
