The Center for Counseling at Union Mission recently hired Diane Gores as a case manager for the No Wrong Door for Help program, which assists the local homeless population with mental health and substance abuse issues.

In her new position, Gores will help treat patients, including both adults and children, who have been diagnosed with mental health illnesses.

“Working with individuals suffering from mental illness requires an intense amount of dedication and love of humankind,” said Gores. “I am happy to offer both of those qualities to the individuals Union Mission helps on an ongoing basis. I hope to make a lasting contribution to this wonderful organization.”

Gores received her B.A. in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. Her past experience includes working as a community mental health case manager for mentally ill adult and child patients, as well as dual-diagnosed individuals and parolees.

Gores is due to graduate with a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2011.

“As always, we are thrilled to have someone with Gores’ love of people and counseling skills join us at Union Mission,” said Terry Cassidy, vice president of Counseling Services. “There is not a doubt in my mind that she will make a wonderful member of our team and help us offer the quality care these people deserve.”
