An updated and unified zoning ordinance and zoning map for the city of Savannah and unincorporated Chatham County has been released and is available for you to review.
The public comment period extends through September 30,2011.
UZO Information and
Online Tools UZO Draft: The draft ordinance is available for review at www.unifiedzoning.org. Some sections will be posted after the June 28 release. Zoning Map: The UZO Online Mapping (UZOOM) tool will help you identify the existing and proposed zoning of any property in Savannah or the unincorporated county, including comparing existing and proposed uses and building standards. You can search by address, or property identification number. Use Comparison Chart: Because the UZO will update how uses are referenced, it may be difficult to compare existing and proposed uses. A keyword search (e.g., “florist”) will help you find the proposed equivalent use (“general retail”). Existing and proposed use definitions are also provided. UZO Blog: Ask questions of staff or provide comments on the UZO blog. The blog can be accessed at www.unifiedzoning.org.
Weekly Drop-in Sessions at MPC: Each Monday, except federal holidays, from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm, MPC staff will be available to answer your questions. No appointment is necessary.
