The Savannah Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated (TLOD) held its annual fundraising event, the Kiddie Kotillion Beautillion, on Saturday, December 12,2009 in the auditorium of Johnson High School.

The selected theme for this gala event was “The Magic of Christmas”. Lady Johnnie S. Holmes served as the General Chairperson, along with a dedicated group of Ladies. Within a short period of time, they were able to plan and execute a very elegant pageant.

As a major fundraiser, the proceeds are utilized to make contributions to various charitable organizations within the local community, which include the NAACP, the National Council of Negro Women, the West , Broad Street YMCA, the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the M. L. King, Jr. Observance Committee, and the March of Dimes. Funds are also utilized to award scholarships to deserving freshman college students at Savannah State University.

The contestants competed enthusiastically to be recognized as the King or Queen for the 2009 Kiddie Kotillion BeautiIlion. The Queen and her Court were: Little Miss Antwaynnette L. Williams; 1st Place, Little Miss Sydnei Milan Richardson; 2nd Place, Little Miss Ta’e Alexis Wallace; 3rd Place, Little Miss Nyla RaeAnn Parker; 4th Place, Little Miss Dezairae Amari Young; and 5th Place, Little Miss Malia Amaya Jones. The King and his Court included: Little Mr. Derrick Carlos Haynes, Jr.; 1 ,t Place, Little Mr. Jamie laCharles Jackson, Jr.; 2nd Place, Kason Gerrod Young; 4th Place, Little Mr. Tyree O’Brian Russell; and 5th Place, Little Mr. William Edward Robertson, Jr.

The president, Lady Annette S. Mitchell, and members of the local chapter are indeed grateful to all contestants, the parents/guardians, program participants, and the Savannah community for the support given to make this event so successful.
