Tom Steyer to Bring Impeachment Effort to South Carolina

With 2020 activity picking up, Steyer will host an impeachment town hall in Columbia and attend a luncheon in the Lowcountry

On MondayMarch 18th and TuesdayMarch 19th, Tom Steyer will visit South Carolina to meet with local activists, host an impeachment luncheon in the Lowcountry and host a town hall in Columbia to talk about the need for Democratic leaders to act quickly and support impeachment.

The Impeachment Luncheon and Q&A will be held on Monday, March 18th, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Hilton Head Island Beach & Tennis Resort, 40 Folly Field Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.

The Impeachment Town Hall will be held on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019
and the doors to the Columbia Conference Center at 169 Laurelhurst Ave, Columbia, SC 29210, will open at 6:15 PM.

Over 95,000 South Carolinians have signed the Need to Impeach petition, and during the trip, Steyer will make the case to begin impeachment proceedings immediately and discuss how South Carolinians can push the issue with presidential candidates. On Tuesday, Steyer will host a town hall in Rep. Jim Clyburn’s congressional district to highlight the broad support for impeachment among voters in South Carolina 6th congressional district.

As House Majority Whip, Rep. Clyburn has the opportunity to be a strong leader and support the effort to begin impeachment proceedings immediately. Steyer has already held three town halls in the districts of influential Democrats, Rep. Jerry Nadler (NY-10), Rep. Elijah Cummings (MD-07), and Rep. Neal (MA-01) highlighting the American people’s support for swift action to hold Trump accountable.
