Savannah State outscored Lane 48-42 in the second half but it would not be enough as the Tigers would lose their sixth game in a row, falling to Lane 78- 71 on January 11.
SSU trailed by 16 with 12:44 remaining in the game but used a 24-8 run to to the game at 60 with 4:22 left. Lane answered by scored ten straight points during a 13-2 run as they went ahead 73-62 and never looked back.
Trey Deloach and Marcus Scott had 16 points apiece for the Tigers. Rico Bonds added 14 points, Zion Williams scored 12 and Andrew Okorodudu had 13 rebounds.
The Tigers (1-8 overall and 1-5 SIAC) travel to Fort Valley State on Jan. 18 for the second game of their three game road swing.
