Sunday morning, January, 26th, 2020, we lost one of the greatest athletes of all time Kobe Bryant, professional American basketball player, and his 13-year-old, daughter Gianna “GiGi” Bryant, along with seven others, in a tragic helicopter crash on the way to a basketball tournament where Bryant was expected to coach.
Bryant, leaves behind a legacy of greatness having played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 20 years fresh out of high school as a powerful shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers. He went on to win five NBA championships, was a 12-time member of the All-Defensive Team, 15- time member of the All-NBA Team, 18- time All Star, and NBA’s 2008 Most Valuable Player. Not only was he an amazing star athlete with a passion for the game but an outstanding and active father to four beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband to his wife, Vanessa, of 18 years.
Bryant was wellknown for his talents, and was recognized across the world. Many were affected by his death and will always remember January 26, 2020 as a gloomy day in which we lost one of our legends. His family and friends reflect on the great moments they shared with Bryant and speak about how he has made a huge impact on many lives. Within hours of hearing the devastating news, fans and supporters were gathered outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California in remembrance of Kobe “Black Mamba” Bryant. It is a depressing time for the NBA and supporters worldwide.
