A few days ago I spent six days, October 28 – November 3, in a shut in with the Lord. These are some Awesome times. For over 30 years, I have spent time with God in shut ins and sometimes up to nineteen days in a row. God is an Awesome God and He desires for his children to take time with Him. While shut in with God, I pray read, listen and write as I fellowship in a relationship with Him. I truly love the Lord and I love going in with Him whenever and however long He desires. My deceased husband, Henton, always called it a lock down with the Lord as I have heard him say when people called me on the phone. Yes, in a way it was a lock down or at least it was to Henton. Praise God!
While I was in, I came to the Book of Psalms. King David, a man after God’s own heart, was speaking a great deal about the wicked. I felt the need to share some of it as David expounded His views.
There are people today who do not know that they are wicked and they need to know because the end of it is very bad. In Psalms 10 starting with verse 2, it says, “The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth. The wicked will not seek after God.
God is not in all his thoughts. His ways are always grevious. They utter and speak hard things; they slay the widow and the stranger and murder the fatherless. His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief, he takes the name of the Lord in vain and vanity. He sits lurking in places in secret an murder the innocent; his eyes are privily set against the poor. They have Hate and not love written in their hearts.” “The wicked bend their bow and make ready their arrow to shoot at the upright in heart. They speak vanity everyone with his neighbor with flattering lips and the tongue that speak proud things.”
“The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God, they are corrupt, and they have done abominable works. There is none that does well.” The wicked back bites with his tongue, does evil to his neighbor, is very deceitful, and salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not the statues (Psalms 119:155).
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and the nations that forget God (Psalms 9:17). The wicked lies, he steals, (Please read Psalms 94: 8-15). “They don’t understand when will you be wise? He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eyes, shall He not see?”
So what shall we do? Psalms 15: 1-5 says “Walk uprightly and work all righteousness and speak the truth in your heart. Do no evil to your neighbor nor take up a reproach against your neighbor. God honored them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt and change not. He that does those things shall never be moved because upon the wicked God shall rain snares, fire and brimstone and a horrible tempest – shall be the portion of their cup.
But for the righteous, the Lord loves righteousness.” “His countenance doth behold the upright.
God will show you the path of life. Thy presence is fullness of Joy. At thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalms 97:10 says “Yet hat love the Lord, hate evil. He perserveth the souls of His saints; He delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
God Bless you and stay righteous (do the right thing).
