The Spencer E. White, Sr. Scholarship Committee of the Berean Missionary

Baptist Association, Inc. Congress of Christian Education is proud to once again announce its annual scholarship banquet. The banquet will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Cary Hilliard’s Banquet Room on Abercorn Street.

The banquet speaker will be Elder Craig Daughtry of the New Generation Full Gospel Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia where Bishop Norris Darden is the Pastor.

Elder Daughtry was born in Savannah, GA to the parents of Julie D. Smalls and Elder Alexander Heyward. He attended public school in Savannah, Georgia and graduated from Sol. C. Johnson High in 1989. Elder Daughtry graduated from Savannah State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. He continued his education at Armstrong Atlantic State University where he became certified to teach secondary mathematics. Elder Daughtry received a Masters in Education from Troy State University in 2006, a Masters in Ministry from New Generation Institute of Biblical Studies and Theological Seminary in 2007, and his certificate in Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University in 2008. He is currently employed with the Savannah – Chatham County Board of Education as an Academic Coach.

Elder Craig L. Daughtry is married to Monica Frazier. They have three beautiful children, Janae, Jasmine, and Craig Jr. Monica Daughrty will be the featured soloist for the banquet. Our presider for this year’s banquet will be Mr. Larry “Gator” Rivers a Savannah native and former Harlem Globetrotter. Rivers is a graduate A.E. Beach High, Moberly Jr. College and Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science, Physical Education.

The Spencer E. White, Sr. Scholarship Committee has through the years been committed to the uplifting of young scholars who have the motivation and desire to further their education on a secondary level. The late Spencer E. White, Sr. believed that one of the duties of the local church is to contribute to the educational goals of young people. Through effort such as this, the committee is able to continue to help students in their educational endeavors.
