On Thursday, February 23 2012 at 6:30 p.m The Black Heritage Festival will present “Uneven Fairways” A film Documentary that “…chronicles the stories of African-Americans who faced discrimination and all manners of indignities just to play the game of golf and the lengths to which black golfers went, including forming their own tour, the United Golf Association.” This event is open to the public and will be held at St. Matthews Episcopal Church – Toomer/Walker Hall,1401 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. (Use Burroughs St. Entrance). On Feb 24 at 10:00 a.m. the “Uneven Fairways” The film documentary, with special appearance by Jim Thorpe will be aired. It is open to students, student golf teams and other athletic teams, and the general public. It will be held at SSU in the Howard Jordan Building, Torian Auditorium.
