The Latin American Services Organization (LASO) announces the 6th annual Fiesta Latina on Saturday, September 10th at Rousakis Plaza on River Street in Downtown Savannah, from 11 AM- 8 PM.
“Fiesta Latina” is a festival that will feature Latin American culture with more than a dozen free live performances from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Performances will showcase a variety of Latino cultures through folkloric song and dance, as well as music ranging from salsa to reggaeton. The festival will be an event for the whole family, featuring a talent show, live art demonstrations, cultural and informational booths, as well as face painting and kid-friendly events. There will also be vendors selling food from cultures as diverse as Mexico, Puerto Rico and Brazil.
“It’s that time of year again, to come out and taste the Latin sabor [flavor] of our Savannah community at the 6th Annual Fiesta Latina. It’s a true celebration of unity through diversity of food, music, artistic talent and culture,” says Franyel Zelaya, LASO Board President.
LASO is a nonprofit organization that works to promote the integration of Latino culture in the Savannah area. LASO also provides information, referrals and other community services for the Latino community.
The Fiesta Latina program is free and open to the public. The event is cosponsored by the City of Savannah’s Department of Cultural Affairs.
