The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour plans on making a return to the prestigious Hilton Head National Golf Club (January 19-20) located in the tranquil low country of South Carolina.
The tournament is the first on schedule this season ranked by the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) and is offering four performance stars to each boy and girl in the 15-18 year old division crowned champion of the event. In addition to the four performance stars both winners will receive an automatic bid into the 2013 Tour Championship as well as 1,000 points towards tournament standings.
The points this season carry extra significance considering this will be the inaugural season of the Hurricane Cup. Point leaders from the following states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio will battle it out for bragging rights and the Hurricane Cup title. To be eligible for the cup individuals must attain membership with the HJGT.
The Hilton Head National Jr. Classic will be held over a two day period.
The format is stroke play and the first round will kick off with a double tee start between 8:30-10:30AM. Parents are encouraged to cheer on their child as they participate in this highly touted AJGA tournament. The event spans over two days and 36 holes of golf, open to both members and non-members of the HJGT for age groups Boys 11-14, 15-18 and Girls 11-14, 15-18.
