Thankful Announces Fourth Annual Christian Leadership School


 
 

Thankful Missionary Baptist Church’s Fourth Annual Christian Leadership School (CLS) will offer courses designed for church leaders, especially Sunday School teachers, superintendents and ministers.

The Certificate of Progress Program (COPP), sponsored by the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, is designed to produce qualified leaders who will lead church members into the 21st century. This year’s theme is “To Train Leaders to Impact Eternity”. All instructors are fully certified by the National Baptist Convention. Register now for the second session, beginning from November 1-5 . Courses will be taught 6:30-8:45 nightly. Dinner will be served from 5:45pm until 6:25pm.

The second session November 1st – 5th offers: #1079 Survey of John (Phase 3) This course will focus on the fourth Gospel and its uniqueness. Students will identify the specific features that characterize John’s gospel and distinguish it from the Synoptic gospels, with emphasis on John’s writings and the ministry of Jesus Christ. Textbook: The Gospel of John, Volumes 1 & 2 by William Barclay; Instructor: Pastor Quentin Morris, Sr.

#9005 Writing Techniques II (Phase 3) This course will focus on the COPP writing requirements for Phase 3. Emphases will be placed on the writing of documented research and the development of other skills necessary to complete the writing assignments in this phase. Students will be introduced to the library and use of reference materials. Textbook: A Pocket Style Manual by Diane Hacker; Instructor: Dr. Josephine Foster.
