The Georgia Utility Contractors Association, Inc. (GUCA) is an association that has been leading the underground utility construction industry since 1972. As the voice of that industry, safety and education has remained its focused mission. One of its offering is to provide opportunities throughout the year for its members to network and participate in worthwhile fundraising events-like golf tournaments.
GUCA members hit the greens on Monday, September 16, at the Orchard hill Golf Course in Newnan, GA, for the 2013 Larry S. McReynolds Golf Tournament to help raise money for GUCA educational programs college scholarship for students pursuing degrees in construction programs, high school school-to-work programs, and high school trade show and career fairs.
Of the 172 players participating in the tournament, four men representing Team Frankie Thompson Enterprises, Inc., took home first place honors in the morning tournament. Company owner and president Frankie Thompson was proud of his team’s exceptional prowess on the golf course, thrilled at their winning performance, and excited about the prospect of Frankie Thompson Enterprises continuing its role of exemplary leadership-both on the golf course and in the underground utility construction industry in the years ahead. This year’s Team Frankie Thompson Enterprise, Inc., members were Craig Zupan, Greg Young, John Garde, and Quinton Standifer.
