On Monday, March 12, 2012 Judge Tammy Stokes was officially sworn in as Chief Judge of Recorder’s Court.
This position became vacant after the death of long time Chief Judge Lawrence “Larry” Dillon.
The 1979 Beach High Homecoming Queen worked as a trial attorney in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. before returning to Savannah, and was appointed to the bench in 2004.
She sits on an array of charitable boards, including Planned Parenthood, and is most concerned about young people who end up in the judicial system for life.
Her family members, colleagues, were in attendance.
