Our featured Student of the Month representing the month of May is a sophomore from Savannah Early College High School. He is described as a worldclass student and is a recipient of the President’s Award of Excellence.

He is the Sophomore Class President as well as the captain of the STEM Club. He volunteered with the Superhero Fun Run & 5K for the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club of Savannah. He is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, Beta Club, Student Council, and other school organizations. He was one of the first sophomores to participate in the Move On When Ready Program at Savannah Early College. During the Spring 2016 term, he passed two college courses while in the dual-enrollment program.

When asked what motivates him, he responded, “I am motivated by past innovators who became legends in several fields, like Leonardo Da Vinci. I strive to be well-rounded in science and mathematics so that I may be a bio-medical engineer.”

We are proud to announce the Superintendent’s Student of the Month for May 2016 is Antonio “Frankie” Taharka! Congratulations to our student, his family, and the faculty and staff of Savannah Early College High School!
