On Sunday, July 17, 2016, Saint Philip Monumental African Methodist Episcopal Church, “The Mother Church of African Methodism in Georgia”, where Reverend Dr. Bernard Clarke who serves as Senior Pastor along with Presiding Elders, Reverend Dan Stevenson, of the Savannah North District, Reverend Catherine Mathis of the Savannah South District, Reverend Earl Ifill of the East Atlanta District and several pastors from the Georgia Annual Conference welcomed the newly appointed Bishop of Georgia, Bishop Reginald T. Jackson. Bishop Jackson delivered a very uplifting and soul-stirring sermon “The Church At Its Best” from Acts 1:5.
Bishop Jackson, a native of Dover, Delaware pastored Saint Matthew AME Church in Orange, New Jersey with a operating budget that grew from $50,000.00 to $2,000,000.00 for over 20 or more years. At the 49th Quadrennial Session of the General Conference of the African Methodist Church Bishop Jackson was elected and consecrated the 132nd Bishop of the African Methodist Church. He is married to Supervisor Christy Davis-Jackson, Esquire and they are the parents of two children, a daughter, Regina Victoria Jackson and a son, Seth Joshua Jackson
