St. Philip A.M.E. to Celebrate Harvest Day and Homecoming


The St. Philip A.M.E. Church, 613 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. John Foster, will celebrate Harvest Day and Homecoming services and activities from Wednesday, September 22 through Sunday, September 26, 2010.

Our theme for this year’s harvest is “Gathering God’s Harvest: Reaching Out to Others”- Proverbs 10:5. Our special Harvest Sunday service will be at 10 a.m. and a unique form of worship will be rendered.

A special emphasis will be on reaching out to other cultures/ethnic groups with special attention being given to Caribbean (Haiti) and African cultures.

We invite you, your family and friends to join us for each of the activities and services listed during this time of celebration. Open to all youth in the community. Youth and Family Emphasis Night Wednesday and Thursday, September 22-23, 2010, 6:30 to 8 p.m. Jamming in the Spirit for Jesus”. Guest church youth groups participate through song, dance and spoken word. There will be a pack the pews youth contest, and a Sub Sandwich and Ice Cream Sundae Party.

During the Harvest Day/Homecoming Celebration on Sunday, September 26, at 10 a.m. all members visitors and friends are encouraged to dress in caribbean/African Attire, and pack the pews with family and friends!
