SSUNAA Savannah Chapter Reaches $100,000 Endowment Fund

The Savannah Chapter of the Savannah State University National Alumni Association has reached its endowment scholarship goal of $100,000.00. The endowment scholarship was established on February 25, 2012, with an initial investment of $10,000.00. In addition, thousands of philanthropic gifts donated by the members of the Savanah Chapter and numerous Chapter fundraising activities will provide a source of funding to help Savannah State University’s band, gospel choir, athletics, and recruitment programs, now and in the future.

University endowments are usually charitable monetary donations to support the University’s various programs. For example, the Savannah Chapter’s endowment will assist Savannah State University in providing scholarships and grants to students in the band, gospel choir, athletics, and recruitment efforts. In addition, the Savannah Chapter’s endowment distributions are excellent sources of financial assistance to the “well-rounded” students who engage in educational and recreational activities.
