SSU to offer information session for Obesity Outreach Program



Savannah State University Community Outreach Obesity Program (COOP) officials will hold a seminar/registration session, October 29, to recruit minority, moderate-to-low income, overweight or obese men, women, and children, ages 8-70, who are interested in participating in the second phase of a weight-loss program. The session will start at 6 p.m.in room 211 of the Drew-Griffith Science Building on the SSU Campus.

COOP is funded by a grant from the University of Kentucky Center for Poverty Research, through funding from the National Institutes of Health. The aims of the obesity study are to educate and inform low-income minority youth and adults in Savannah about the health risks of obesity, and to provide them with information and tools to improve their health.
