SSU Men Win Bethune-Cookman Invitational


The Savannah State men took top honors in the inaugural Bethune- Cookman Invitational cross country meet.

SSU won with 20 points followed by Bethune-Cookman (48) and Florida A&M (69).

Rueben Isreal-McBee led SSU with a time of 15:17.24 which was good enough for second place overall. Tyrone McCoy finished third overall with a time of 15:18.61 followed by Miguel Valesquez (15:41.53) who was 4th, Kris Ballou (15:41.70) who was 5th, Etchien Assinzo (15:44.27) who was 6th Darnell Brown (16:00.53) who placed 8th.

The Savannah State women finished second with 44 points behind FAMU who won the women’s portion with 18 points. Bethune-Cookman placed third with 66 points.

Aleah Hordges led SSU with a sixth place finish with a time of 19:15.92. Dominque Givance (19:36.29) was 8th, Erin Chance (19:38.79) was 9th and Bridgette Brown (20:26.01) finished 10th overall.
