The Savannah State University 2012 homecoming game will begin at 2 p.m., Oct. 20, at T.A. Wright Stadium. Game-day parking and traffic guidelines are outlined below:
General campus parking is $15; students, faculty and staff with valid university parking decals will be allowed to enter campus at no charge.
For the safety of pedestrians, vehicular traffic between the three-way stop sign at the Tompkins Road intersection and LaRoche Ave. will be limited to essential game-day personnel.
The LaRoche Avenue entrance will close at 9 a.m.; game patrons should use the Whatley, Falligant and Jasmine avenue entrances.
The Jasmine entrance will be one-way for incoming traffic only; patrons leaving campus during peak traffic times should use the Falligant or Whatley gates.
Beginning at 9 a.m., Chatham Area Transit shuttles will transport patrons from various campus parking lots to the stadium (visitor side ticket booth) and back at no charge; look for the “Game Day Shuttle” signs.
All shuttle service will end at 7 p.m.
Established in 1890, Savannah State University is the oldest public historically black college or university in Georgia and the oldest institution of higher learning in the city of Savannah. The university’s 4,500 students select majors from 25 undergraduate and five graduate programs in the School of Teacher Education and three colleges: Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration and Sciences and Technology.
