SSU Football Season Starts August 30

 
 

It’s almost kickoff for the Savannah State University Tiger’s (SSU) football season. The Tiger’s finished up the 2017 season with an overall record of 3-8. They defended the Theodore A. Wright stadium, their home field, well ending with a home record of 2-2. SSU starts this season ranked ninth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and will open the season against the University of Alabama-Birmingham on August 30 in Birmingham, Al. They will compete against five teams at home: Bethune-Cookman University (Sep 9), Charleston Southern University (Oct 6), Morgan State University (Oct 13), Norfolk State University (Oct 27), and finally North Carolina A&T University (Nov 10). The homecoming game (Oct. 27th) will be against Norfolk State University at 3pm. The Tiger’s will also play the University of Miami, the eighth ranked team in all of college football, this year on September 9th at 6:00pm.
