Spencer E. White, Sr. Scholarship Committee Founder’s Day service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 at 5pm at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Clarence Williams, Jr. is pastor.

The 2012 scholarship recipient is Levelyn Louise Gloriana Bea Bridges. Bridges is the daughter of Ms. Lynette Ward Bridges and the granddaughter of Mrs. Janie Baker Bowers. Born and raised in Savannah, she is an alumnus of Johnson High School, class of 2012, where she was in the International Baccalaureate Program. She has been very involved in many service, cultural, and leadership organizations including: Top Teens of America, Savannah Youth Council, DECA, Jefferson Awards, Peer Mediation, IB Chorus and Varsity Cheerleading. She attends First African Baptist Church of East Savannah and has served in the Usher Ministry, Heavenly Dancers, Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry and Sunday School. Bridges is now a freshman at Georgia Southern University. She is studying Biology/Pre- Medicine with the goal of becoming an Obstetrician- Gynecologist. Former recipients: Lydia Smith Young, 1964, First Tabernacle Baptist Church; Allen Wright, 1972, Second Arnold Baptist Church; and Lakeshia Palmer Wilkin, 1994, First Tabernacle Baptist Church. Musical selections will be rendered by JMS Ministries of Second Arnold Baptist Church.
