SONATA Receives United Way Grant

Sponsors of New and Talented Artists Inc., (SONATA) has been approved by United Way of the Coastal Empire to receive funding in the amount $6,6398.71.

SONATA founding president, Mrs. Lillian Ellis and the board members of this great organization have been working on grants for a number of years. SONATA is excited that their hard work educating students about the art of classical music has gained lots of support.

With the generous contribution from United Way, other companies, organizations and board members, SONATA can offer more scholarships and provide more opportunities for advancement. Any students in grades 7 through 10 who are serious and interested in applying for scholarship for the next calendar year should contact Mrs. Alma Williams at 355-1892 before August 2010.

SONATA would like to invite the public to their Spring Recital featuring the students on April 25, 2010 at St. John Baptist Church, 522 Hartridge St. Savannah, Ga.

Save the date June 5, 2010 for the Annual fundraiser, Jazz Luncheon at the Marriott Hotel.

Elinda Gorman, president and the SONATA board members are excited about this upcoming event.
