Sister’s Court Apartments Celebrates Grand Reopening

National Church Residences celebrated the Grand Re-opening of Sister’s Court Apartments on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

Originally built in 1894 as the Little Sisters of the Poor, the building served as a convent and refuge for Savannah’s low-income senior citizens until the building was sold in 1971. It was later transformed into affordable senior housing and, in 2014, was purchased by National Church Residences.

With plans designed by Foley Design Associates Architects and renovations performed by Choate Construction, Sister’s Court Apartments underwent a major historic preservation that included the renovation of two buildings, the demolition of another and the construction of a new four-story building in its place.

Altogether, Sister’s Court now features 78 residential units and common spaces designed to house seniors.

The Grand Re-opening event featured several speakers including Georgia Rep. Mickey Stephens, National Church Residences President and CEO Mark Ricketts and National Church Residences Chairman of the Board of Directors Jim Savage.

  1. Great) While traveling with my family to Hilton Head Island, I reached out to Sheri Nixon who was referred to me by another real estate agent in California. Sheri and I met to discuss investment opportunities in Hilton Head as we are looking to purchase another investment property. I found Sheri to be extremely knowledgeable about the local market, particularly luxury properties, either oceanfront or with ocean views. I appreciated her information based, no pressure approach in making me feel comfortable that she is the right agent to work with to purchase an investment property in Hilton Head.
