Sis. Nelson To Preach Initial Sermon At Second Arnold


On Sunday, January 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., Pastor Richard L. Hall, Sr. and the Second Arnold Baptist Church family invites you to the Initial Sermon of Sis. Shannon Natasha Nelson.

A native of Savannah GA, Shannon, daughter of the Mrs. Margie Nelson and the late Minister William F. Nelson, was born on October 19, 1971. She was enrolled in the Chatham County Public School system and graduated from Hershel V. Jenkins HS. She later attended Savannah State College (now university) on the Miss Ebony Fashion Fair Scholarship, earning a bachelor’s in 1995 in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. Shannon would later achieve her Master’s Degree from Savannah State University in 2001 in the field of Public Administration. She is currently in pursuit of a Doctoral Degree in Theology from the Open Bible Institute in Greenville, South Carolina.

Shannon has served on various ministries such as Kingdom Come Ministries in Atlanta GA (ministering to the homeless), Feed the Homeless, Gilgal Inc.( a non-profit organization aiding in helping former drug addicts discover their purpose in the body of Christ), and No Child Left Behind (meeting the needs of every deserving child).

Shannon was initially baptized as a child under the leadership of the late Reverend Archie Fields of Macedonia Baptist Church (Jones Street, Savannah GA). She is a former member of St Paul CME under the leadership of the late Dr. Henry R. Delaney (Savannah GA). While living in Atlanta Georgia, she was affiliated with The Body of Christ Church ministries and Ben Hill United Methodist church. In August of 2013 she was rededicated to the Holy Trinity through re-baptism at Second Arnold Baptist Church.

Shannon is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has been a strong leader in the community always emphasizing “ Living Life On God’s Purpose”. In May, 2004 Shannon Natasha Nelson received her calling to the ministries for the building of the Kingdom. Knowing that everything is in God’s timing, a fantastical journey took flight. God choose Second Arnold Missionary Baptist Church, 1427 East 37th Street, Savannah GA, as the vehicle through which Shannon would spread the spoken word of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The public is invited to come out and witness this spiritual journey of Shannon Nelson.
