Bob Zentz, the “Tidewater Troubadour” has been an international representative of the American folk tradition for more than five decades, a “folksinger’s folksinger” whose works have been covered by hundreds of musicians, and whose most recent program is “’Vital Mental Medicine:’ Music and the Shackleton Expedition, 1914-1916.” A great friend of the Museum, Bob was instrumental in developing our banjo/akonting making program.
Alan Reid was a vital member of Scotland’s cherished Battlefield Band from its inception to 2010. He was commissioned by the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival to compose and script a musical drama based on the life of Scotsborn mariner and American Revolutionary hero John Paul Jones.
Jeanne McDougall will also the premiere of the song “Savannah” from her upcoming CD and book “The Waters,” about watery places that Jeanne and Bob have visited in their travels, including the beautiful Savannah River down to the Tybee Roads.
