Native Island Business and Community Affairs Association, Inc. announces the 16th Annual Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration schedule for February 1 – 28, 2012.
The Board of the Directors of Native Island Business & Community Affairs Association, Inc. (NIBCAA) and Charles Young, III, Chairman, 2012 Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration, are pleased to announce the details of the month-long event.
Held throughout the month of February, The Gullah Celebration will welcome tourists and natives alike to cultural events that honor and preserve the traditions of Hilton Head’s native Gullah population and their descendants. This year events are concentrated over the four weekends in February 2012 and culminate with one of the most popular events of the Gullah Celebration, the Marsh Tacky Horse Run, which will take place at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2012 on Hilton Head Island’s Coligny Beach. Events are held at Hilton Head Island’s premier indoor and outdoor venues, and at the Island’s historically black churches. Ticket prices range from $5 – $20, with many events free of charge.
“We are very pleased and look forward to sharing the Gullah experience and story with all who come to our great Island,” said Young. Check our website for regular updates, time and place. www.gullahcelebration.com
