Second Harvest Food Bank is paying it forward! In the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, the Houston Food Bank came to the aid of Savannah locals by sending a truck full of food for those displaced by storm damage. It’s our turn to return the favor.
Second Harvest will be collecting food to send to Houston and we need your help. America’s Second Harvest and local Bank of America locations will be collecting items that will be boxed up by volunteers and delivered to the Houston Food Bank. Please drop off the following items at any local Bank of America or at Second Harvest on President Street to help our friends in Houston:
Jelly (plastic jars only please) Peanut Butter, Boxes of Saltine crackers, Boxes of granola and breakfast bars Canned fruit, Canned meats such as tuna, chicken and ham, Snack crackers (such as peanut butter or cheese) Baby wipes (regular size) Can openers (manual due to possibility of no electricity)
How can you help –hold your own food drive in your company, church or school! Drop off your items by Friday, September 8 and let’s show them that Savannah Spirit.
