Pastor C. MeGill Brown, the Officers and Members of the Historic Second African Baptist Church, 123 Houston Street, extend this invitation to the entire Savannah community to share with us during our Annual Spring Revival.
Revival Services began on Monday, May 17th and will continue through Friday, May 21st, 7:30 nightly. Our guest messenger for this week is the Reverend Michael S. Stamps, Sr.
Reverend Michael S. Stamps, Sr. is the son of Marquis L. Stamps and the late Evelyn Stamps of St. Louis, Missouri. One of six children, he attended the St. Louis area schools and graduated from Soldan High School. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the military and served as a security specialist (Air Police) in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era (1973 – 1976). After honorable service in the military, Reverend Stamps resided in Los Angeles, California where he attended El Camino College as a Business major. Reverend Stamps is currently enrolled at Andersonville Baptist Seminary where he is pursuing degrees in Religious Education and Pastoral Counseling. He was licensed to preach on June 6, 1995 at the Antioch Baptist Church North and ordained January 31, 2002.
Reverend Stamps is currently the Pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. Reverend Stamps serves as Clerk of the Berean Missionary Baptist Association, Inc. And has served as Vice-President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, Inc. Of Savannah, GA.
He is married to the former Diana Blakey and they are the proud parents of four sons: Marquette, Michael, Jr., Marquis and Stephen, and the proud grandparents of seven.
