City Manager Rochelle Small-Toney has appointed Mobility and Parking Services Director Sean Brandon to the position of Management Services Bureau Chief, effective July 2. In this capacity, Mr. Brandon will be responsible for oversight of the departments of Mobility and Parking Services, Research & Budget, Revenue, Purchasing, Human Resources, Vehicle Maintenance, Archives and Recorder’s Court.
Mr. Brandon has worked for the City of Savannah for more than a decade. He started as a Management Intern in 2001, was hired as Management Services Coordinator, and then promoted to Assistant to the City Manager in 2006. Since 2008 he has served as Mobility and Parking Services Director, where he oversees a staff of roughly 100 employees who direct on-street parking management and enforcement, garage operations, recreational docks and the citywide bike plan.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Hampton University, and his Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
“Mr. Brandon has strong management and technical skills, and has proven himself to be a leader within the City Organization on a number of complicated, high-profile projects,” Small-Toney said. “I am confident that he will do a superb job in this key City position.”
The City Manager has appointed Veleeta McDonald, Assistant Director of Mobility and Parking Services, as the Department’s Acting Director until a permanent appointment is made.
