On June 1, 2016, The Savannah-Chatham public school board made some major changes in regards to new positions, promotions and replacements. Ann Levett, Chief Academic Officer, responsible for the K-8 reforms and directs all of the district’s schools, academic programs and curriculum, was promoted to deputy superintendent of academics during the Wednesday board meeting. Her $145,525 salary saw a $10,000 increase to $155,525. Another noteworthy promotion was that of Vanessa Miller-Kaigler, Operations Chief, was promoted to deputy superintendent of operations, making $143,176 a year.
