The Savannah College of Art and Design will hold its 15th annual Scholarship Gala Saturday, Feb. 1, at Poetter Hall, 342 Bull St.
The SCAD Scholarship Gala is one of the university’s signature fundraising events and has generated more than $2 million dollars in revenue over the past years. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the SCAD scholarship endowment, which supports existing scholarships and creates new ones for talented students.
The annual Scholarship Gala is a celebratory evening for art enthusiasts to gather and show their support for student artists. The black-tie-optional event will feature more than 100 original works created and donated by SCAD students, faculty, alumni, staff and friends, which will be on display throughout Poetter Hall.
Attendees will enjoy an exciting evening of imaginative décor, cocktails, delicious hors d’ oeuvres, music and dancing. Artworks featured will include paintings, photographs, works on paper, ceramics, jewelry, fashion illustrations, garments, sculptures and fibers pieces, all of which will be available for purchase during the gala’s silent auction. All remaining art not sold that evening will be available for sale online at scad.edu/savgala.
Tickets to the Preview Party, which begins at 6:30 p.m., are $250 and include an exclusive buyit now option and catered cocktail reception. Tickets for the gala, beginning at 7:30 p.m., are $150 and include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment and the silent auction.
