SCAD president and cofounder Paula Wallace will be honored at Horizon Savannah’s second annual “Honoring an Educator” gala and silent auction on March 2. The Horizons honor recognizes President Wallace’s extensive contributions to local, regional and global art and design education.
Arnold Tenenbaum, retired president of Chatham Steel Corporation and member of both SCAD’s Board of Visitors and Horizons’ board, affirms the recognition, “There’ s nobody better to honor as Horizons Savannah’s educator of the year. As far as I’m concerned, Paula Wallace is the destination for the study of art.”
Since President Wallace’s appointment as SCAD’s chief executive in 2000, she has led the university in unprecedented growth, establishing four new campuses beyond Savannah: SCAD Lacoste, SCAD eLearning, SCAD Atlanta and SCAD Hong Kong. President Wallace also founded the Savannah Film Festival. Horizons Savannah’s “Honoring an Educator” Gala and Silent Auction will be held at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront, 100 General McIntosh Blvd., on Friday, March 2, 6:30p.m. For more info and tickets, please visit www.horizonssavannah.org
