The Savannah Young Lawyers Division (“YLD”), a division of the Savannah Bar Association, hosted 64 professionals at the Westin Golf Club at Savannah Harbor on Friday, June 24th in its 6th annual golf tournament.
Proceeds of over $5800.00 raised by the tournament will benefit the Chatham County Guardian Ad Litem Program. The Chatham County Guardian Ad Litem provides legal services to children and adults who cannot attend to their own legal affairs, but nevertheless need counsel in legal proceedings.
With over 70 members, the Savannah YLD provides its members a platform to serve to the public and the legal profession through pro bono and charitable projects and programs. The Savannah YLD was recently named “Affiliate of the Year” by the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia during the State Bar Annual meeting in early June.
“The YLD looks forward to this event every year, not just for the golf, but also for the chance to contribute to a cause that we all believe in, helping to ensure that children and adults have someone to protect their interests when they cannot.” said Patrick Connell, attorney with Ellis, Painter, Ratterree & Adams LLP and current President of the Savannah YLD.
