Savannah Walk to End Alzheimer’s Selects Local Chairmen

The Coastal Georgia Region of the Alzheimer’s Association in Savannah has announced their Walk to End Alzheimer’s chairmen. Mioshei Mobley, a community service representative with Home Instead Senior Care, and Cathy Rodgers, with Seven Waves Marketing, will head up organization of the October 15th event.

Mobley has worked within the Savannah healthcare industry for many years while volunteering with Alzheimer’s, and Rodgers has begun her second year of volunteer service. Both attended a Georgia Walk to End Alzheimer’s conference in March, where they saw the new brand rolled out.

The annual walk has a new look and name this year with rebranding for the signature fundraiser. Formerly known as the Memory Walk, the new name aligns the goal of discovering treatment and a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, now “Walk To End Alzheimer’s”.

In 2011, the cost of caring for those with Alzheimer’s to American society will total an estimated $183 billion.

The Savannah Walk to End Alzheimer’s will step off on Saturday, October 15, from Johnson Square.
