After its inception ninety-seven years ago, League of Women Voters of Coastal Georgia (LWVCGA) is proud to be hosting the 44th Biennial Convention of the Georgia League of Women Voters in Savannah May 2-4, 2019.
Chris Carson, national president of the League of Women Voters will be in Savannah as part of the Georgia statewide League convention.
On Friday, May 3 from 6-8 p.m., Carson will lead a workshop on Redistricting at Trinity United Methodist Church on Telfair Square. Registration is $10, and the public is invited.
Chris Carson will give an overview of national redistricting and gerrymandering issues, and offer specifics on what we need to focus on in Georgia as our next census approaches. Now is the time to start the conversation to ensure a fair and transparent process that guarantees that everyone’s vote counts.
The League of Women Voters is a nearly 100 year old non-partisan organization with the goal of empowering voters and defending democracy. The League endorses no candidate or party, but instead focuses on issues of vital concern to members and the public.
