Mr. Jim Wheeless has been named Vice President for Academic Affairs at Savannah Technical College.
He most recently served as Acting President of Flint River Technical College in Thomaston, Ga.
Mr. Wheeless holds a BS in Business Administration from Tift College of Mercer University and a MBA from Shorter College. In his tenure at Flint River, Wheeless served as an adjunct instructor, Director of Operations, Vice President for Student Affairs and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
He also held the office of Upson County Commissioner in District 3 for four years.
“We are delighted that Jim Wheeless will be joining our team,” says College President Dr. Kathy S. Love. “He brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to students.”
He began his new duties December 1, 2009.
He is responsible for the leadership, administration and day-to-day operations for Academic Affairs.
Wheeless and his wife Debbie have three children and two grandchildren. He enjoys playing his guitar, traveling, and woodworking.
