The Savannah State track and field team concluded the 2013-14 season on Friday at the NCAA East Preliminary Championship on the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.
Four of SSU’s outdoor field and track members qualified for the 2014 Outdoor East Preliminary Championship. This year marks the 12th consecutive year that Savannah State has qualified members of the program for the NCAA Championships.
On Friday, SSU junior Cameron Hall was the final Tiger to compete this season. He ran a 14.67 in the first round of the 110 meter hurdles, falling short of qualification for the quarterfinals.
Thursday, Kenshard Hamilton ran a 10.75 in the first round of the 100m dash, finishing 35th, and missing the cut for the quarterfinals.
Also on the first day of the three-day prelims, Lemaar Shakir ran a 53.20 in the 400m hurdles, placing 41st. In the women’s 100m dash, Asia Stinson ran a 12.16 to finish 46th.
