Savannah State to host BEEP Seminar

Savannah State University (SSU) will host the National Urban League’s Black Executive Exchange Program (BEEP), a career awareness and planning seminar, February 25-27, 2009. The theme is “Success After Graduation: Are You Up for the Challenge?”

Executives representing CIGNA Foundation, Consolidated Edison, UPS, GBX Brands and more will lead a number of panel discussions, workshops and classroom visits. Topics will focus on corporate culture, becoming a CEO, the value of internships, workplace challenges, the career search and becoming a successful entrepreneur.

BEEP is a voluntary partnership between the National Urban League, corporate America, government and other institutions to share African-American executives with participating colleges as visiting professors. The executives lead career-related lectures, conduct networking sessions, workshops and mock job interviews.

While BEEP is presented by the College of Business Administration (COBA), the sessions are open to students in all academic disciplines at the university. For more information about BEEP, contact the COBA Placement Center, (912) 356-2836.

Established in 1890, Savannah State University is on the move to become the best value-added university in the nation. The university’s 3,450 students are enrolled in 23 undergraduate and five graduate programs in three colleges: Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Business Administration and Sciences and Technology.
