Both men’s and women’s games rescheduled for Feb. 12.

Due to severe thunderstorms and the threat of tornadoes forecasted for this evening, the men’s and women’s Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) basketball games between Savannah State and Miles College scheduled for tonight have been postponed.

The doubleheader will be played on Wednesday, February 12 in Fairfield, Alabama. Miles College, just west of Birmingham, is in the direct path of several major thunderstorms that are part of a low-pressure system currently working its way across Louisiana and Mississippi.

The threat from damaging winds and tornadoes will extend across seven southern states on Monday night, according to the Weather Channel. Miles College is scheduled to close down its campus at 3 p.m. CST on Monday due to the storms.

Savannah State men’s and women’s basketball return to action this Thursday in Tiger Arena with an SIAC doubleheader against Spring Hill. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
