Today we Society of Women Engineers announce the second annual Girls Engineer It! Day, a Coastal Empire event, taking place at the Woodville Tompkins High School in Savannah. This event is designed to encourage young women to become more interested in careers in engineering and technology.
The Girls Engineer It! Day event honors the achievements of women and girls as they develop and discover the future through technology.
Students will participate in three one hour activities with each activity geared towards different types of engineer- ing. In addition, the event will also include a section geared towards parents and teachers to teach them how to keep the students interested in STEM type of activities and what resources there are in the community, web, and even through local companies.
On Saturday, February 16th, 2013 from1:00-5:30 p.m. at Woodville Tompkins High School (151 Coach Joe Turner Street, Savannah GA). Students Grades 6-12, Parents and Educators will gather for this event.
