To kick off their 10th anniversary season, the Savannah Children’s Choir presents their 2015 Summer Camp, titled “Greatest Hits”.
“Our 2015/2016 season will focus on our greatest hits,” explains Emmy Williams, SCC’s Director of Education. “This means looking back on the things we’ve done exceptionally well in our past decade, and bringing them back to help celebrate. We’re offering lots of interactive ways for our members, alumni and the community to get involved,” she continued.
Summer Camp also has an element of member and alumni involvement. “We always offer four core classes – music history, music theory, sight singing and movement – and each year’s we’ve also offered an elective based on that year’s theme,” says Williams. “This year, we’ll be polling our members, alumni and registrants to see which of those electives should be offered in the 2015 camp.”
Designed for rising 2nd through 8th graders, Summer Camp engages musically interested kids with fun and music while equipping them with solid musical skills. Camp takes place July 13-24 on the Esther F. Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts campus
The camp is custom designed to accommodate everyone from never-before singers to experienced performers.
Camp concludes with a End of Camp concert at the historic Lucas Theatre on Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m.
Currently, the SCC is offering an Early-Bird discount on registration, which ends on April 1.
Financial aid is also available. The SCC will hold a Financial Aid audition on Saturday, April 25 at 9 a.m. for interested potential campers.
